PartySync Alpha privacy
October 11, 2026. This notice covers the experimental PartySync Alpha extension and its Firefox install page.
Data used for your party
PartySync sends your chosen display name, a random participant identifier, supported streaming-site and content identity, available public show or episode titles, playback position and actions, and connection or playback status to the PartySync Live service on Cloudflare. This lets your party join the same content and synchronize playback. Other party members see your display name, activity, status, and shared content metadata.
Each person watches through their own streaming account. PartySync does not collect your streaming password, cookies, viewing history outside party operation, media files or stream URLs, or payment details. It does not capture or retransmit video.
Diagnostics and preferences
In Firefox, optional diagnostics are limited to one bounded incident report for a create/join failure, uploaded only when you grant that data permission. Reports contain controlled error codes, extension/browser version, connection state and playback-state fields. They exclude raw exception messages, arbitrary detail fields, passwords, tokens, media URLs, raw page content and video. General playback/error diagnostic batches are withheld in this Firefox alpha. Declining optional diagnostics does not disable party synchronization.
Your theme, notification-sound preference, badge placement, and membership-recovery state are stored locally by the extension. Core room operations and bounded server operational logs still occur when optional client diagnostics are declined.
Retention and use
Live rooms expire no later than six hours after creation and can close sooner when empty or idle. Cloudflare operational records follow the configured retention of the Live service. Private support exports are configured to expire from GitHub after seven days; copies retained locally for support can remain until removed. PartySync uses these records for synchronization, debugging, security, and reliability. This alpha does not implement advertising, sale of personal data, or personalized viewer analytics.
This install page
The page contains no analytics scripts, advertising, cookies, or tracking pixels. Cloudflare serves its static files and processes ordinary connection information to deliver and protect them. Firefox contacts the static update feed to check for signed extension updates.
You can leave a party at any time, revoke optional diagnostic permissions in Firefox, or remove the extension. For privacy or support requests, use the PartySync project owner who supplied your alpha invite.
